Why he WILL be at Arsenal next season

We have just entered March and Arsene Wenger has still yet to go public on whether he will remain in charge of Arsenal next season.

As we already know, the 67-year-old’s current deal at the Emirates expires this summer, and despite rumours linking him with a move away from Arsenal, the Frenchman has kept quiet on his future. Wenger has told the media outlets, however, that he will be managing next season, even if it’s not with Arsenal. He has also suggested that he will decide his future either this month or the next, leaving the fans and the board alike in the dark for the time being.

It was reported yesterday in The Sun that the board’s patience is wearing thin and are set to meet with Wenger during the next international break wanting an answer. Wenger continues to play down his future, but has dropped hints during his recent press conferences that he WILL be in charge of the Gunners next season. in his latest press conference, the Frenchman gave, to me at least, the clearest indication yet that he will be signing a new deal at Arsenal. With Luis Enrique stepping down as Barcelona boss at the end of the season, Wenger was inevitably linked with the job. However, the Frenchman told the press there and then that he could have left the north London club over the past 20 years for another, but his preference has and always will be Arsenal - if this isn’t a hint that he will be at the Emirates next season then I don’t know what is. Combine this with reports claiming he will an extra £2million-a-year on signing his two-year deal table by the Arsenal hierarchy, it almost seems written in the stars. I mean, why would you leave a job that’s going to see you pocket £10million-a-year and not even have to make a serious challenge in the Premier and Champions League?

The fact remains that the Arsenal board are happy with the job he is doing, and despite the Emirates faithful split on whether Wenger is still the right man for the job, the Frenchman won’t care and the board won’t care. Why you ask? Simply because Arsene is making profit for the club and lining the pockets of those above him.
