Arsenal star urged to leave this summer by club icon
Ian Wright has told Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal this summer following his Anfield axing.
The Chile international, 28, was surprisingly dropped to the bench as Arsene Wenger’s side lost 3-1 to Liverpool yesterday afternoon.
Sanchez did however make an appearance, coming on at the start of the second-half when the Gunners were 2-0 down. The forward made an impact when he was introduced, assisting Danny Welbeck’s goal, but it wasn’t enough as Arsenal once again failed to beat Liverpool at Anfield.
Wright, who was one of the pundits in the BT studio, was asked what he thought about Sanchez not starting the game, he replied:
“I’d be thinking ‘if I can’t get in this team - hammered out of the Champions League and not in the top four - I know there’ll be other teams.
“He has nothing to lose now. It was a strange game to leave him out of, it baffled me.”
Sanchez has been linked with a number of top European clubs this summer and it is looking increasingly likely that he will not be an Arsenal player next season, unless things change for the better.
