Playmaker could be with Arsenal longer than expected
Good news if you are a fan of Mesut Ozil like myself, he could be at Arsenal for the remainder of his career. Yeah you read it right.
Despite the German international still yet to extend his stay at Arsenal and revealing in January his future depends on Arsene Wenger stays, it appears he has had a change of heart.
He has been linked with a move away due to contract talks stalling, but his revelation may indicate that he could be at Arsenal for a lot longer than expected.
As quoted in the Metro, the 28-year-old playmaker told German publication Bild that he wants to win the Champions League with the Gunners:
‘I would like to win the Champions League one day. With Arsenal.
‘I still have a year contract here.’
In the 18 years we have competed in the Champions League, we have only ever made the final of this illustrious competition once, this back in 2006 (11 years ago) and it doesn’t look like we will be getting to that stage anytime soon.
Ozil would like to win the Champions League one day with Arsenal. I’m sorry to say Mesut, but you could be with us for a very, very long time mate.
